Spare prisms available here. When investing in a headband it is wise to buy a product where spare parts will always be available otherwise it will become worthless when damaged.

The optics are made from silicate glass, which is very scratch-resistant, has a very high resolution and produces an extremely high contrast image- Schweizer uses a UV absorbent optical crown as used with prescription lenses (refractive index n=1.52).  Details on magnification and working distance above.
