This high-grade magnifier has been made for sharp precision, very fine measuring and inspection with distortion-free viewing to the edges.

Made from stainless steel (black), it also has a scale with a division of 0.1 mm in various lengths (see specifications) which is set at the foot at an angle of 45°. This angle has been selected to give you a more comfortable view of the scale avoiding any glare or reflections. The markings in the scale are very fine in detail and easily readable/distinguishable as they are also colored in black.

Equipped with a unique push-focusable aplanatic lens system, which is made from silicate glass, this precision lens is very scratch-resistant, has a very high resolution (very sharp!) and produces an extremely high contrast image. Schweizer uses a UV absorbent optical crown as used with prescription lenses (refractive index n=1.52).

This type of construction with an openly accessible scale is specially made for repeated procedures (i.e. using a tweezer) and it also helps avoid nudges keeping the magnifier in the steady desired position. If needed, the ocular can also be removed to be used as an eye-glass (but held by hand).
